L in 100 Words

L words include: Lazy. That's it. Because I've been lazy. Oh, I have a good reason. I've just come out of finals. Whew! I'm done with that semester. Thanks goodness. I have a lovely 7-week break ahead of me and I'm currently at my sisters. It's the best.

So yes, I was lazy and I probably could have written posts while going through hell, but I knew they wouldn't be any good (not that these are any good); I just didn't want to make you suffer through reading them. Thanks for the patience. I promise to not be lazy anymore.

K is 100 Wrods

A 'k' reminds me of koala.  I think they look very cute.  They do, but man, do they smell. Seriously.  I was in Australia for a visit and I got right up close and personal with a koala.  It smelled so bad.  Also the caretaker, or maybe it was my mom, I can't seem to remember at the present time, said that these animals are basically drugged on the eucalyptus leaves so they don't try to leave.  And I think that's sad.

Obviously I love zooss, but not when the animals is abused. I think we have to change something

J in 100 Words

I wish that today was "t" day. Yesterday there was a "Tornado watch/warning" around my town. I've never been in a tornado, and most likely never will be. Nothing came. So maybe it's good that today is "j" day. JK!!!

Really though, there was a Tornado watch and it didn't even touch us. I actually don't think a tornado really happened. Sigh.

But 'j' words are funny. 'J' is just a funny letter.
Just can mean two things: Just as in justice, and just as in only. (Edmund the Just versus Can you be serious for just one second?"

I in 100 Words

I thought of two different things in regards to the letter 'I'.  First off: I.  It's very self centered. In other languages (when I say other languages I mean Dutch) they use the word 'ik' to represent yourself. At least that that has two letters. I don't know it seems very self centered.

Second: igloos which always leads in my mind to penguins. I love penguins. I watched March of the Penguins and cried. They are so sweet and just trying to survive. I know it's the order of life, but I wish we could make life easier for them.

H in 100 Words

"H" seems to be one of the less friendly letters. There are four wall, two on each side and two and each 'hemisphere'.  It reminds me of the word 'hate' and I really don't like that word. I know that I use it often in my language (although it's usually in the context of: I hate, well I don't hate, but strongly dislike this person.) but it inspires so much bad beyond it.

When you hate someone you give yourself no chance to love them. No chance is given them to be something un-hate-able. I think that is true hate.

G in 100 Words

G. It reminds me of turkeys (gobble, gobble.) And gangsters. You know, the Gs.  My brother would always take the first letter of our name and the add the word 'dog' to the end. I was 'roy-dog'. One of my sisters call me roy, so there you go. My sister Jenny was J-dog. We are officially a gang of siblings. Pretty darn threatening. Straight up G!

That last sentence just made me feel awkward. Honestly, I don't really know what to think when I think of the letter 'G'.  I suppose I think about the word great. Yup, that's it.

F in 100 Words

F is not my favorite letter. I remember when I first learned the f-word I honestly had no idea what it meant. I knew it was bad, but no idea of the actually meaning. Then when I was in high school my German teacher said she'd listened to a talkshow that kept using the f-word. They realized they couldn't do that given their viewership, so they used the word 'floss' instead.

So now I think of that word when something bad happens.

Floss that! Floss you!

Usually I laugh so much that I forget why I was mad. It works.

E in 100 Words

E. The first words that come to mind are: Egg, eggplant, elephant, eel, eek!

I like eggs, but I don't eat them anymore.
I've never tried an eggplant.
Elephants are one of the coolest animals in my opinion.
I don't like eels mainly because of the horrible role they play in The Little Mermaid. Yes, I'm that shallow.
I'm not sure if I've ever said 'eeeek!' But you never know.

Isn't the letter 'e' the most used letter in the English language.
Whenever I play Hangman I usually guess 'e' first because the odds are in my favor. It's popular.

D in 100 Words

Oh dear, there are all sorts of connotations with this one aren't there. Well I just won't worry about those connotations.  The letter 'D' usually reminds me of the words 'dark'. I don't really like the dark, but I do. Sort of. I like the solitude that comes from the dark (Couldn't you guess that? I'm a blogger. I live for solitude.).

But I don't like being afraid during and after horror films that lead me to believe that the dark is full of monsters that want to kill me. Or take me on a wild ride. That'd be nice.

C in 100 Words

C makes the same sound as 'sea'.  So I'm not sure what to make of that. Language is weird. So is the letter 'c'. Although I suppose many letters and words are weird if you look at them long enough and frequently enough.

Honestly I don't have a whole lot to say about the letter 'c'. It looks pretty.

cccccccccccccc

If you look at the line above in the right way (I twisted my head to the left and sort of went crosseyed) it looks sort of like a DNA strand. Maybe that's significant? Maybe not? Who even knows anymore?

B in 100 Words

There is no word that is made up only of the letter 'B'. However, a bee sounds very much the same. I don't like bees very much. One time I was attacked by one when I ran into it while biking down a quaint street. It hit me in the neck and then BAM! Stung. I was passing the house of someone I knew so I stopped in for some baking soda and water. It drew out the sting, and made me feel better about myself.

I suppose they're necessary in life. They pollinate the world. They're okay. I guess.

A in 100 Words

The word 'a' itself is incredibly important. Without it we wouldn't be able to point out a group of things without singling out a specific one. We would have to that "the or that boy" rather than "a boy".  There is so much you can do with the letter 'a'.

I have a best friend who's name is Abbi, and my own name has an 'a'.  In fact, not one of my best friends doesn't have an 'a' in her name. That is pretty awesome. Here are some 'a' words:

Apple,
Ape,
Alaska,
Aardvark,
Amazing,
Annie,
Aim,
Avengers,
And,
Adios.

Alphabet Post in 100 Words

Let's liven things up a bit. How about for the next little while I keep doing these 100 word posts, but every day I'll talk about a different topic that beings with a letter in the Alphabet. But I have to go in order.

Now I just have to think of the topics. Knowing me they'll be something like Aardvark, and banjo. Being honest, I don't have any opinions about Aardvarks and banjos, but I do like Arthur and Friends fro PBS. That counts right?

If you're reading this, please feel free to comment on what you'd like to hear.

Dogs in 100 Words

Don't get me wrong. Monkeys are my favorite animal, but if I'm being honest (and I try to be), dogs are much more common, not to much less illegal. They are loyal, and they love you for who you are. I think dogs love everyone simply because they exist. They don't care if you have mental, emotional, or physical problems.

The only thing they care about it making sure that you are happy and safe. Our family dog saved me twice: from oncoming traffic and a vicious dog.

In other words, I want to be as loyal as a dog.

4th of July in 100 Words

There are parades, some crazy people, trucks with at least two American Flags in the bed, other people blow stuff up and makes big booms in the sky. It looks beautiful. It is loud. The smell of Barbecue fills the air. It's almost like I can smell the freedom.

America.

I am truly so grateful that I'm an American. I'm also grateful that I have had the opportunity to live in Europe. I liked seeing the way things are done in different parts of the world. But since today is all about America, I'm happy to know that I'm free.

Visiting Family in 100 Words

My sister is my best friend. Seriously, I'm positive that even if we weren't biologically related we would be best friends. She is the one person in my life I can count on to always have my back (besides my other siblings and mom. Hi guys!).  We get each other and support each other.

Anyway, this weekend I have the wonderful opportunity to visit her. I'm so excited to be with her even if just for a short while. It's nice because whenever we get together it seems like no time has past.

I love her so much! Best Friends!

Traveling in 100 Words

I quite like traveling. It's fun to visit new places and meet new people. But sometimes the best form of traveling is going to visit family.

For the 4th of July I have the pleasure of stayin with my sister. I am so excited. We've made all these plans to go hiking and shopping, but also to watch some movies together.

I have to admit, my sister is my best friend. She has always had my back and I know she always will. Sometimes the best thing about traveling isn't meeting new people but going home and seeing old friends.

Headaches in 100 Words

I hate headaches. They make my entire body seize up and then eventually I have to start squinting my eyes in order to concentrate. If there is anyone I don't particularly like, I usually wish a headache on them.

I think caffeine will usually help, but I don't like how jittery I get when I drink caffeine.

I wish you could read this post before spell check. It's pretty bad. Really bad. I keep using easier words to substitute for the harder ones.

I'm fairly confident that I"m not productive when I have a headache. I might puke.

Headaches suck.

Learning a Language in 100 Words

I lived in the Netherlands for 18 months. Before heading to the land of the windmills, I was in a special program for 6 weeks to learn (sort of) the Dutch language. When I first arrived, I was amazed by how much I hadn't learned during my 6-week course. And yet, after probably 3 months, I was closet to fluent and after 6 months, fully fluent.

Why? How?

I don't know. Well, maybe I do a little. I loved the culture. I love the people. I tried to mimic them. I asked questions. I wrote things down. I spoke Dutch!

Melanoma in 100 Words

I came home from an 18-month living situation in the Netherlands in October. By January 2015 I was diagnosed with Melanoma Skin Cancer. It was a tough few weeks while I worked on not freaking out before my surgery.

Melanoma, previously the rarest form of skin cancer, is now becoming more and more common. It is deadly because it can spread so quickly. The surgery was done and the tumor was removed.

I came back two weeks later to get the stitches removed and be declared cancer free. For 6 months I've been cancer free. Hopefully it stays that way.

Music in 100 Word

I've enjoyed music for my entire life. When I was 8 I started playing the flute and have never looked back. Music can lead to the theme song of the soul. It can ignite fire and passion otherwise unknown to the world.

Through music cultures and societies have rebuilt themselves after catastrophes. Music can heal the spirit and create dreams. Through music I have learned to connect to my innermost self. I've come to realize why musicians move while playing their masterpieces. It's nearly impossible not to. With the rhythm and the spirit in the words, you have to move.

Blisters in 100 words

Blisters. Ouch. I just got a new one today. I was at a friend's birthday beach bash. First off, that was a bad idea. Socializing is never a good idea when I'm involved. usually I'll end up hurting someone's feelings by being honest. Sorry!

While walking on the hot HOT sand, I felt a slight sting. While I rested my feet in the cool water I didn't notice anything. It wasn't until I was home that I felt the blistering heat exhibiting from my foot. A big blister has come to light. What do I do now?

Let it alone!

Fun in 100 words

What is fun? I think fun is a matter of choice. Anything can be fun with the right attitude. Well, except serial killing. Then again, I guess serial killers find pleasure. But that is usually frowned upon. So let's not include it.

I love to read. I enjoy eating slightly melted ice cream. I like to listen to music. Playing my flute is enjoyable. When it's winter and I wrap myself up in a blanket recently taken out of the dryer. HMMMMMM! I love being the first one to use the Peanut Butter. But most of all, I enjoy life.

Books in 100 words

Books. They are by nature made up by hundreds of thousands of words. Composed of the same 26 letters, and yet they allow us to see the world from a different perspective.

A book is an entirely new world contained in a stack of papers. I love to get lost in a new world where my own troubles can finally take second place. Who can worry about college grades when you're concern becomes whether or not to destroy a ring with such enticing power, or allow yourself to be killed so life will go on for others? Reading is my escape.

My view on the world: 100 words

The world is harsh. War, disease, wealth, poverty, hunger, death. Uncertainty runs rampant through the every street consuming everyone in its path. Ignorance, anger, negativity, and disaster plague our lives. What can we do?

On the other hand, there are those who try to help those in need. Money is spent, lessons are taught, donors are found, death brings life, life changes the world. Smiles, laughs, jokes, a helping hand. Faith in Humanity is restored, and I think that's why I like to live on this wonderful planet. Hope can always be found. Sometimes we need to make it ourselves.

Catcalling in 100 Words

What is Catcalling? Catcalling (Google definition): make a whistle, shout, or comment of a sexual nature to a woman (I'll add 'man') passing by.
It is not a compliment. It should not boost an ego. It lessens the progress society has already made. Many men and women do this as a way to boost their own ego or hide their lack of confidence. Catcalling is form of abuse and should not be condone, and yet when a woman stands up for herself she can be in danger of further abuse.

Callous
Abusive
Threatening
Crude
Alarming
Lewd
Lie
Ignorant
Negative
Gross

What is this?

This blog will be made of posts consisting of only 100 words each. No matter what. I will have to revise every single sentence to make it strong.

Topics will be varied and based entirely on my desires. I feel fairly confident in forming opinions over a small stretch of time and page. I look forward to sharing my ideas and opinions with others. It will help myself and other understand what we truly believe and (sometimes) know to be true.

We will, together, become (I hope) people with more decisive living habits and compassion for others' opinions and ideas.

First Post: 100 Words

There's this idea I have. Can I make a blog of posts that contain only 100 words? I think it's possible. And certainly it will be difficult sometimes to come up with that many words to describe something so minuscule, but I still believe this will be a nice experiment.

Often times, in my opinion, a measurement of a writer's ability is their ability to write concisely. Unless you're the writer of The Scarlet Letter, then long sentences which span across several pages are a must. I guess we'll see. Can I do this?

Consistency is better than one timers.
